I posted a Bible verse on facebook yesterday. Proverbs 2:11 - Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. This verse is a perfect verse for why I don't post every little thing on facebook. I have friends that do, and it is amusing sometimes. Especially the funny stories about kids. But, I do tend to scroll past the constant updates that people sometimes give. Honestly, I don't need to know that you are going to take a shower. But, I have realized that because of my viewpoint, our families are missing out on the fun/strange/crazy/bad/good things that go on with us. I bet that most of my 228 friends really don't care about our day to day life. As with most people, I'm sure, a good percentage of those people are from my school days. And like me, they just want to see what they are up to in life, see how they look and so on. It is a shallow thing, facebook. It's all about us. At least, that's what it is for a lot of people. Attention grabber.
Sorry got off track there.
I happened along a friend's blog one day. It was so cute and funny. It was a light bulb moment for me. I can use a blog as a way to tell our families those stories and info that I am dying to share, but don't want the rest of the world to know! It's a lot more private. I can send it to my family! Honestly, who else really wants to read about the Horn's.
Oh... hey, you there, in the back, is your hand up? No? Oh, uh... do you need a tissue for that?
Exactly. My mom, my mother-in-law (Mom), and my sister-in-law. That is about all that I imagine will take the time to read this. I'm perfectly happy with that. Should anyone else decide to dive into our crazy life, have a good swim! But, I warn you, I will be using this blog to tell cutsie things about our kids and updates of our lives.
Enter at your own risk!

Love it! I am glad you are blogging! I too am tired of all the updates and stupid quirky comments like "omg so excited" with out giving any detail just so people comment on your status. It is very shallow I agree. So yay for blogging!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sabrina! I knew you'd understand me. My bestie!
